Congratulations to Musicality’s Stage Manager, Matthew Newcombe for securing several unconditional offers to study Stage Management, as soon as normal life resumes!
Matthew had offers that included Mountview, Rose Bruford and The Royal Welsh, but has decided to accept the offer received from The Bristol Old Vic…We couldn’t be happier!
The Bristol Old Vic has the most wonderful Production/Stage Management course and offers amazing opportunities to all who study there.
At his interview, Matthew was able to talk all about his time and experience at Musicality Academy and spoke with ease about the various productions he had worked on and the challenges that ensued…Matthew says that he mentioned having to operate a full fire evacuation during ‘Summer Holiday’ in 2019 and the challenges of working in traverse in our recent production of ‘Peter Pan’. Although Matthew studied Stage Management at Gower College, he says that his hands-on experience at Musicality had been invaluable and recommends it to anyone wishing to work in this area of the performing arts in the future.
Sophie Thomas, our Assistant Stage Manager will be taking over the reigns from September, but we are always looking for new Stage Management students to join the team. There is always work for lighting designers, props makers, costume designers, painters and even carpenters, so if you are serious about making the theatre your future, please give us a call on 07980 185462 and let us know…We’d love to welcome you to the team!
We hope to be able to congratulate Matthew in person before he leaves for Bristol, but in the meantime, please join us in celebrating his success online, and wish him all the very best for what we are sure will be a very bright and exciting future…Congratulations Matthew!
