The Magic of Peter Pan hit Margam recently, as our fabulous Youth Academy spent a residential weekend at Margam Discovery Centre, rehearsing for our forthcoming production of the same name!
The talented youngsters spent hours rehearsing, but there was lots of fun too, including a photo shoot in costume, a musical theatre quiz, a slumber party with a pirate pinata and a Musicality mug & hot chocolate for every single student!
By the end of the weekend, we were able to completely run the show, and wow, what a difference the weekend had made. With Pirates, Lost Boys, Brave Girls and more than a handful of fairy dust, the show is looking magical and exciting.
This was the weekend of the big storm that passed through Wales causing havoc on the roads, but our youngsters were safe and sound at Margam, and we barely knew what was happening! We had one hour of torrential rain and that was it!
The Discovery Centre is set is beautiful grounds and you can imagine our surprise when over 100 deer suddenly ran past the rehearsal room…What an experience!
The cast of Peter Pan have found the show to be quite challenging, since we are performing it in ‘traverse’, which means the audience sit both sides of the action. Challenging because the children have had to really work hard at ensuring their actions and expressions can be seen from all angles. They are looking forward to getting on stage now and bringing their performances to life, and hope that may of their families and friends will be coming to see them.
Peter Pan is being performed at Gowerton School Theatre 5-7th March at 7pm and a Saturday matinee at 2pm.
Tickets are only £5 (for children under 12) and £10 for adults. Tickets are available for Musicality reception at the Canofan, Gorseinon on Mondays & Wednesdays 5-8pm or on Saturday mornings 9-12pm. OR CONTACT US HERE
